What if my blood group is RhD-negative and I have had an abortion?
If your blood group is RH negative then your partner’s blood group should be checked. If he is Rh positive then you should be given injection anti D within 72 hours of taking the medicines or surgical abortion.
If you are not sure about your partner’s blood group or about the paternity of this pregnancy, take the injection anyway to be on the safe side. A similar injection should be taken after all future abortions and deliveries also.
